Help Me Decide

I'm attempting at re-creating ^this home for a competition being held over at The Simmers Society.  The goal is to keep it as close to the floorplan and drafts (below) as possible

After fighting that roof (it surprisingly wasn't easy!) and messing around with the walls and the shape, I think I am finally happy with what I have so far - although it's not much.  I have the house up and all the interior walls placed.

Now I'm trying to place my windows and doors.   But I'm having trouble deciding what windows to use. So I want your input on what you think I should go with.

Should I go with this one?

Or with this one?

Comment on this post and tell me what you think.  Or if you even have an idea that's different from the two pics above I'm open to hear it. :)

Savannah Pheirson (Peer-sun) is my newest sim.  She contains CC but no store content.

New! Cottonwood Heights

Hello Again!

I have a new home available for download.  This home is based off the 2012 HGTV Dream Home in Park City, Utah.

On a personal note, I used to live in Salt Lake City and Park City was just a 30-45 minute drive up the canyon into the mountains.  Park City is ritzy, posh and one of the prettiest places to ever visit.  It's where some of the Olympic games had been held when the Winter Olympics came to Utah (although I was not living in Utah at that time) and sports lots of new shopping and new homes.  It's also popular for skiing.

The HGTV Dream Home fits right in with the popular contemporary craftsman styles that are prevalent in Park City.  I was excited to build this home - though it was a challenge only to have Generations, Late Night and Showtime available to use.

The home has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms.  There is a large pool and large entertainment area off the back porch.  There is also a modest green house for gardeners.  The garage sports 2 car spaces and the home.

I used the HGTV floor plan for guidance on the home as well as using some of their decorating techniques.  So there isn't too much variation from the original floor plan to what I built.  But of course, game parameters don't allow for things to be spot-on.  So there will be minor differences.  And certain rooms hold no resemblance in style to the original.

This home is CC Free but does contain some free store items as well as the Full Ultra Lounge Set.

I also used one CAP pattern from BlueMurder.

Sneak Peak - A Mediterranean Home

I wanted to jog your memories with a minor update.  I posted about this home awhile back and then promptly busied myself with other projects.

Plus, I had a creative block and stopped shortly after completing my landscape.

This home is a Mediterranean style home, a mix of Spanish and Italian.  Italian exterior but Spanish influence on the interior.

I have most of the first floor complete, but I don't want to spoil the surprise of this one. I'm really excited to share this to you in full upon its completion.

This home will be CC free but have store content.  It will have (give or take) four bedrooms and three bathrooms.  There's a pool behind the fence and and space for entertainment in and around The Loggia with an outdoor kitchen.

I hope my blending of Spanish and Italian works out as much as I'm thinking it will.  We'll see!

Astoria - **FIXED

One of my Recent Homes, Astoria, had some glitches that was brought to my attention by rgirl1.  When I play-tested this home, I didn't have any problems, but after downloading the home into a new game folder and playing around I discovered some strange things.

If any of you downloaded Astoria and noticed minor glitches like sims not sleeping under covers or sliding around while sitting on sofas or arms going out of joint when putting Baby in one specific crib, these issues are now fixed. I removed the bugged content and replaced them with expansion pack items.

This home now uses AMB, GEN, & PETS.  I went ahead and added in a laundry room and laundry hampers to the appropriate rooms.

I removed the Master Bedroom bed (which was the culprit for sims not getting under the covers) and fixed some routing problems for the dresser.  Please note: the vanity in the Master Bedroom is for looks, although if you move the chair I angled in front of the vanity, it will function as a mirror.

All other problem areas have been resolved.  There should be no further issues with this home, however, please never hesitate to tell me if one of my homes doesn't function properly.  As a perfectionist I like to have things ... well, perfect.  And I want people to actually use and play in my homes and not be dissuaded by potential errors.

I also removed the video from youtube, and I don't know that I'll be re-making that just because the videos are time-consuming.  But should you want to see pictures I can showcase them for anyone who may want to see.  Just let me know.

Marsie Solomon - An Ethnic Sim

After creating my little Native American Sim I've been meaning to create more ethnic sims to add to my studio.  So, I created an African American sim that I'm pretty proud of.

Marsie Solomon is a Libra who loves the color orange, enjoys a good steak, loves listening to R & B.  She's family-oriented, good, hydrophobic, charismatic and a diva.

She is also CC Free, but contains store content.  ((And for me the store isn't working so as soon as I'm able to access it I will provide the exact items used.)) Her hair, everyday top, formal outfit and swim bottoms are all from the store.

Coming Soon! Breckenridge Cottage

This will be a 2-car garage, 3 bedroom/2.5 bath house and has an open floor plan.  It's also another build I'm creating by request.  The original floor plan the requester wanted can be found at HousePlans.com should you be interested to see the floor plan.

My version of the house is very close to the floor plan but there are areas of the interior layout that I took liberty of.  Namely, I got rid of the bedroom closets.  I'm nearly done - just those silly bedrooms to decorate so this ought to be uploaded as soon as tommorrow or as late as mid-week next week.

The home will be Store Free and CC Free but will need all expansions and stuff packs except for Katy Perry Sweet Treats.

NEW! Carolina, A Beach Bungalow & Genna Dionne

Two NEW items today, Folks!

First up is my sim Genna Dionne who was made for the TSS Two-Trait Sim Challenge.  She's a party animal, loves the outdoors, she's a flirt, athletic, and she loves dogs.

She has CC from Ephemera, Gosik and Praline Sims.  Her formal hair is CC but I don't know the creator (props to anyone who can tell me who) and her Every-day hair is a non-transferable Nouk hair available at MTS.

All other CC is transferable. And the only CC used is skin and make-up.  :)

Unfurnished: 14,066 simoleans

1 item of CC was used and that's a Mutske Window I used as an accent above the front door.  If you don't want CC then all you have to do is use Delphy's Custard tool and extract the window before installing the home to your game.

NEW! Astoria, A Family Home

Surprise!

Well, this got done about a day soon than I anticipated.  I was thinking that I'd get this done no sooner than tomorrow, but oh well!

My newest lot is Astoria, a grand 5 bedroom home that has 3.5 bathrooms and sports ample room to grow in! Because this home was only built with the Pets EP in mind, I figured I'd make the floors spacious to allow for any EPs that the requester might acquire so their sim-family can continue to grow with the home.  There's a future laundry space and room for a grand piano and as the little sim-kiddos age, rooms can be converted to other spaces.  There's also room on the second floor balcony for any possible additions.

This home includes custom content and custom patterns.  Because the CC is extensive, I cannot credit all the creators I used, but a majority of the CC is from Zhaana, Cyclonesue, MissyZim and Mutske from The Sims Resource.  These are trusted creators that I use repeatedly.  And, should you still doubt, this home was run through Delphy's Custard tool and all CC checked out as safe/non-corrupt.

There is non-transferable CC used in this home.  So please be sure to download the following items before downloading the home into your game.

Coming Soon! Astoria

I have a Traditional-style home in the works.  I have the exterior complete along with the first floor interior.  The only thing I need to finish are the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.  Which, for me, is where I slow down to try keep creative juices flowing. Plus, bedrooms do get kind of monotonous.  I love that word: Monotonous.  ;-) But it's true about the rooms getting (wait for it)  ....
Monotonous.

Anyway, this home will have CC - and a good dose of it.  It will boast 5 bedrooms, ample living space and a barn that will be ready to board 2 horses.  This home will only have the base game and Pets expansion items, which is why I'm so glad CC is an option for this build request. Makes creating a whole lot easier!

So, look for this to join my studio soon!  I'll most certainly update the blog upon the home's completion.

Solano - A Modern Home

I almost forgot! I've had this home done for some time but totally forget to mention it to my followers.

I'm not at home so I don't have good pics to post, but I will link you to the video that shows everything.

This is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath modern home with a spacious and private outdoor entertainment area.  Two store sets were used in this home, the Technophobe No More and ..... er, um... one other one.  Yeah, I can't remember but all the details are in the video.

This home does contains CC.  So it is not located in my Studio, but it is available Here on MediaFire

I have a sim to share - her name is Lana.  She is a YA who loves animals, is ambitious, happens to be a little absent-minded, dislikes the kiddos but has a good sense of humor.  Her lifetime wish is to have oodles of pets, preferably 2 of each.
