Cheverny - A French Country Home

Hi All!

The French Country home is finished.  Although because of the file size, uploading to the Exchange was not possible.  Which I figured this would happen, but I'm hoping to re-edit the lot and upload a "Lite CC" version of the house later - hopefully tomorrow.

I used CC windows and a French door from The Sims Resource (gasp! -- don't worry, they're safe - I checked) and I want those to transfer with the house.  All the CC (although not THAT much) that I did use in the interior I will remove and clean up with Delphy's Custard tool.  I just don't have the time right now.

But for those who are okay to have CC in their game, I uploaded the home to MediaFire.  Just click the link below:

Download Cheverny

This house was also checked through Custard, I just didn't remove any CC (except the buggers that sneak in there without me wanting it to.)  If you have questions or concerns about the lot, please don't hesitate to ask.  I'll be glad to help. :)

I did use EA Store items, here are the sets I used:

  • Animals Abound Set
  • Mediterranean Villa Kitchen/Dining
Yeah, not a long list ... But wait for it.  My individual item list is much bigger.  Here goes:

  • Silence is Golden Box
  • Spa Necessities
  • Pan of Plants
  • Foyer Frills
  • Charming Culture Counter
  • Regency Palm
  • Coffee Tray With Book
  • Asymmetrical Allessandar Table Lamp
  • Deobnair Decanter
  • VDB Overhead Cabinet
  • Palm In Vase
  • Kitchen Cage Hutch
  • Tropical Fruit Bowl
  • New Year's Nectar (Free!)
  • Solace Snugabunny (Premium Content)

Available Now! Heatherton

My newest lot is available!

This is a 3 bedroom/2 bath traditional-American style home.  The main areas and bathrooms are already furnished and decorated, the bedrooms are left empty for customization.  I find that most people redecorate the bedrooms anyway, so it'd be easier for everyone to decorate the rooms as they need them :)

This house contains safe CC patterns that come with the download of the house.

However, I used the following items from Mod The Sims (MTS) that you will need to download in order for the home to appear as I intended.

The Country Windows Set by HugeLunatic
Simple Siding (6 patterns) by plasticbox
Transit Tiles by JaneSamborski
The Fiorella Flower Arrangement by Goodywood

Various store items were included, namely from Contemporary Comfort sets.  If you want a detailed list, I will be happy to provide it if you leave a comment for me.

Hello, Old friend, Hello

For you youngin's out there too little to catch the reference, the title of my post is from a good Neil Diamond song. (sigh) It's been too long, Simmers. But I am back for now.

I see that despite my absence, EA hasn't improved anying with their franchise in Sims. If anything, I think it's even more downhill. So, the recent news is we are to expect a stuff pack based on Katy Perry? Hmm, considering That chick hasn't put out a new album since her debut makes her fodder in my eyes anyway. Now, don't get me wrong, she has good music, catchy tunes. But she has out, what, three albums? But they're all THE SAME THING AND THE SAME SONGS ... The only additions one or two new songs to somehow make it a new album. I think it's time Katy step out of the limelight, relax and regroup and come out with an all-new album with even better songs.

Now, back to this stuff pack. ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME, EA?! I was once a huge fan of the franchise, but ever since Ea stuck their fingers in the pie, I've lost more and more interest in the game, and more respect for the creators.

Will I continue building for the game? For now, I will continue building, but my hard-earned money isn't being invested any further in this company until they create something of worth. Despite the obvious target to a younger audience with the release of Katy Perry themed sh*t, I find that I still like to build. So I will continue to do so.

The build team that I was on is getting back up and running on the official forums over in creative corner. Once we are running, I will post links here for anyone who might be remotely interested.

Until then, Happy Simming

Coming Soon - Hidden Springs Country Club

It seemed like a shoe-in to me to create a country club for Hidden Springs.  In place of Lars' Disco Tech, I started to create a country club, which I found more fitting than an out-dated "disco joint."

So, here's what used to be on the lot:

And using the same frame but changing the style and a bit of the layout, here's the country club:

Again, it's still in construction, but I don't think it'll take me long to finish it.  I think the issue will be in uploading it.

Speaking of uploading, the Fire House and Spa are still not uploading to my studio and I really don't want to upload to mediafire because they purge uploads frequently and there's no guarantee that uploads to mediafire will be there long enough to allow everyone to download. So, I'm still trying to work on uploading those two lots.  It has been successful without using the upload image changer program, but I really don't get the downloads I like without having custom pics so I'm working on how to fix this.

Again, as soon as they upload the way I want, I will include links and additional pictures here on the blog.

Introducing Panacea & Fabersham

Coming <VERY> Soon!!

I'm totally teasing any follows of this blog with 2 lots that I've completed.  Although, I don't think I'll have these uploaded until tomorrow due to time constraints in my real life.  Because I add custom pictures to each uploaded asset, and I edit those pictures, I don't think I'll have these ready until tomorrow.  But I figure I can give people a sneak-peek of whats coming to the Exchange shortly.

Panacea Elite Pool & Spa is a replacement lot for the community pool in Hidden Springs.  This replacement lot contains Olympian Physique and Muse Luxury Store sets that are essentially required.

Fabersham Fire House is my replacement for the default Ambitions lot.  No store items are required for this to work - just certain EP's.

So there you have it, Folks! These 2 lovelies will be added ASAP to my Studio so keep a look out for the update on my blog.

Gettin' My Groove On

Since starting this pet project for myself, my desire to build has been re-sparked.  I love building, but some projects really keep me entertained.  Turns out, creating my own version of what I want in Hidden Springs is really entertaining.

Since completing Towne Square, I've dabbled a little more with the Hunter's Lodge.  But I stopped because I think I really want to focus on fixing the "downtown" area of HS (Hidden Springs) first.

I bulldozed that atrocious Crystal Solarium Rejuvinating Waters and made way for a Greece-inspired, elite community pool.  Since Hidden Springs is supposed to be this rich, hip city that the celebrity and affluent sims run to, then it needs to look like it, right?

BEFORE:

AFTER:

It's obviously still a WIP but hopefully you can get the idea of what I'm trying to accomplish.  This lot will have store items from the Greek sets and the same CC I've used in the Towne Square.

There will be luxuious lounges and bars, outdoor pools and hot tubs and private baths.  Parking will be added to either side of the lot as well, I just haven't added that yet.

Another fixer-upper I've started in on is the fire station.  The previous fire station was the default Ambitions lot.  I removed that and created this:

It's large, I know, but I think it'll be great.  The black asphalt leads to the additional parking and also offers a back-gate enterance to the fitness/recreation area for the fire-fighters.
The first floor is where the fire truck is housed, the office for the captain/chief, and a living area.  The second floor will be for the kitchen and dining, and the third is the bathrooms and sleeping area.  Also, on a random side-note, this fire house is wide and not long, so it may look a little bigger than it is...

The last lot I worked on (and completed since it's a simple rabbit hole) is the former diner, The Enchanted Grill, is gone and I replaced it with the Town Life restaurant that you see below.  I also altered a little of the landscaping and made an elevated outdoor eating area.

Unless someone really wants me to, I'm not going to upload this lot to the exchange because I really didn't do much with this lot since it's just a rabbit hole.  However, should any reader really want to add this to their game, I will add it to my studio upon request. :)

The next lot I plan to rebuild is Lars' Disco-Tech.

I think I can do better since I'll be able to use Late Night items and make it a sweet lounge.  So stay tuned, folks!

Happy Simming

Hidden Springs Towne Square

I'm baaacck!

So, I was able to get a boost of creativity to finish the big park in Hidden Springs.  For those interested, it is uploaded to my studio on the Exchange.

Before giving the link, let me say that this lot does include some CC.  It is all safe and tested and shouldn't negatively impact your game.

I only used the flat cement roof trim and Large Sidewalk Tile spray paint that I got from Awesims ... I don't have the link for it.  Both of these CC items are included in the download.

Click Here  to download Towne Sqaure.
Please take the time to recommend. :)

Happy Simming!
~Peaches

PS - Pictures are located in the asset ...

EDIT: Just to be sure that the spray paint from Awesims works, I feel that I should provide the files necessary in case downloading the lot doesn't include this CC I used.
I uploaded the files in a zip folder on mediafire HERE
If anyone could tell me if downloading the lot does or does not include the side walk spray paint, that'd be great.

Coming Soon - Hunter's Lodge & Towne Square

I'm re-vamping my in-game version of Hidden Springs and thought I'd share what I'm up to with everyone. :)

First, I think everyone who owns Hidden Springs would agree that pretty much everything in the town is an eye sore.  I know I'm not the only one who has attempted this - in fact, I'm pretty sure there's a thread on the official forums dedicated to revamping HS.  But for the most part, a lot of my enjoyment of the game is building over the actual playing, so I decided that I'd start my own pet projects dedicated to "fixing" the towns to my own liking.  So, first I'll get HS done and then I'll move on to Barnacle Bay - one of my favorite towns, honestly. :D

So, without further ado, here's 2 spam-pics showing what I've got so far with 2 works in HS.  First, the God-awful park in the center of town that had all those ridiculous stairs... GONE!

There's not much as you can see - but I've got plans to make this a more picturesque town square than it's predecessor.

Second, a redux of my version of the lodge that was located towards the top of the mountain on Ruby Avenue, The Hunter's Lodge (formally called something else that I decided to ditch and forget...)

Keep an eye out for more updates --
Happy Simming, Y'all!

Pleasant Chapel & Cemetary

Hello Again, Folks!

So, now that I've got some free time, I'm loading up some more creations to my studio.  This next lot is a commercial lot, meant to replace the cemetary in Sunset Valley.  I don't know that this lot will fit anywhere else since the dimensions are so unique.  It's a 32x63 lot.

This lot offers a small wedding venue inside the chapel area, there's public bathrooms and just behind the chapel there's a grave yard for your pets and sims.  I also placed a mortuary so you can manage your dead.  This replacement lot should not interrupt game play.

This lot also contains 4 pieces of CC.  I lied forgot about the other 3 items when I wrote the description on the asset.  The brick pattern you see on the exterior of the church is CC, as well as the window above the entry doors.  The third piece is the fence/border I used around the plants in the front yard.  These 3 items are included in the download.

The last piece of CC is optional and not necessary.  But I love it!  It the Fiorella flower arrangement available at ModTheSims.

Also, I did place a few tomb stones of real sims around the cemetary so that you will still have the ability to see ghosts when your sims visit the lot.  It does take a few sim days for the ghosts to spawn just like any other spawners on a lot.   Empty tomb stones that say "Remains" are removeable and you can replace those with any of the dead sims you manage through the mortuary.

Please be sure to download and Rec!
Click to download!

**NOTE: On the asset, it shows that you need multiple store items.  This is technically not true.  I must have killed off sims that had those items designated as their clothes, but the game will replace those items with others if you don't have them.  Just ignore that.  Also, you really only need Ambitions, Pets and Generations for this lot to function.  Hope this helps anyone who may be wondering.
Happy Simming!

A Step Away From the Norm

Yet again, I have another request I'm handling.  This one is not for a Modern build.  I guess you could call it more of a traditional.

Someone asked me to build them a gold and blue "Cinderella-type" castle.  The catch to it is I can't use any store items, expansion packs or stuff packs.  That's right, folks!  I'm using base-game only items and I can tell you it isn't easy to make a castle when you're limited to the base game only.

Here's what I got so far:

I'm not nearly close to being done if I can help it.  I have a lot I'm wanting to try to accomplish with the exterior - I just haven't figured out what else I can add....
Yeah.....

NEW "Beachy" Modern WIP

Coming Soon!
A sneak-peek into my current WIP now that the crazy holidays are over.  This is another request I took up - this one will also be a quick build for me.  Thankfully, the requester said I can leave the interior bare for her to customize but she wanted me to create the house and landscaping.
So here's what I got so far:

Again, I'm always open to possible names people may have for this house, so do share! ;-)

Vermilion - Available for Download

My newest creation is now available:

Smooth Sailing

Well,
After a busy weekend, I jumped on Sims today and added a little more to my WIP.  Here's some sneak peeks into the back yard and the outdoor area.

How do you think it's coming along?

Stumped on a modern request

So,
I'm fulfilling another request, this time for a modern with 3 bedrooms and everything on a larger scale than the last.  Moderns are actually NOT a strong-point so for me personally, I really have to push my creativity to make them.  So here's what I've got so far:

Unlike most builds, this one I'm just going with the flow and building what I think up as I go along.  My normal (and more comfortable format) is to draft on graph paper, sketch out ideas (tho I'm not an artist by any means) and then start building in-game.  Well, I wasn't getting too many ideas so I just opened up the game and got what you see above.  I'm completely happy with the idea of the garage and stairs and entry point.  Everything else is open to change.  I just need to figure out exactly what I'm doing.  I think it's back to the graph paper for now.
