NEW! Cobalt

Cobalt is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath modern home.  Amenities include a pool with waterfall, hot tub, modern furnishings and upgraded appliances/fixtures.

The home was built on 65 Sand Road in Lucky Palms and costs 65,092 simoleans when purchased furnished.

There is no custom content in the home, but I did use the following store items:

Haute Hip Bedroom
Giant Bosai Tree - FREE
Alpha Waves Aquarium
Aurora LushStyle Sconce
Fjordnord Tier Set (from Aurora Skies)
II-Stand Bookshelf
Palm In Vase
Textophobia Taunts Wall Sculpture
Aromatic Stove
Cushy Cushion Loveseat
Cushy Cushion Chair
Murano Retro and Ripe Fruit Bowl
Overly General Dining Chair
Home On the Range Grill
Bamboo Grove Mirror
Simetry Seater
Hosomaki Counter
Nightly Light
Theo's Contempo Round Table
I believe that is the whole list of store items.  :)

And last, the home has been fully play-tested and all appliances and bathroom fixtures have been upgraded.  I did leave the 2nd bedroom empty for downloaders to customize themselves.  The room can be a 2nd bedroom, a nursery or an office and provide versatile space for sims that want to have opportunity to grow in the house and live there longer.

And now on to the pics!

I'm On A Roll

I have two moderns I'm working on that I'm to a point that I want to share them!  It is feeling good to build again, but I'll admit, my long absence caused me to forget a lot of build cheats and techniques that I'm having to refresh myself on.

This first house I started working on doesn't have the roof style I want so there will be some major changes to this house where the roof is concerned.

And this next house was originally built to re-learn a certain build cheat that I'd forgotten.  I angled the roof using a couple of game build cheats and I'd like to do something similar with the darker house.  But even though I originally built this house just as a practice run, I continued to play around with it and a really cool house started to form!

Want to know a builder's secret?? Most success in building turns out to be "happy accidents" or things that weren't planned.  That's the best thing, sometimes, when building in Sims 3.

Anyway, that's all for now.  I'll update likely tomorrow with another picture update.

New! Lime In The Coconut

The song which was stuck in my head while creating the house can be viewed on YouTube.

Lime in the Coconut is available for download via My Studio

Although this home was originally built in Isla Paradiso, the ridiculous amount of lag that town has forced me to reformat the home and I finished it in Sunlit Tides.  This home is perfectly suited and looks better (in my opinion) in Sunlit Tides.  The 40x40 lot called "The Sandy Beach" is where this house should be placed for the best aesthetics.

Lime in the Coconut is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath modern home with killer views of the beach and ample outdoor space to enjoy it in.

**No CC or CAP patterns were used in this home, but this home does include store content from the following sets:
Sunlit Tides World
Mid-Century Modern Bathroom
Ultra Lounge Bathroom
Sun, Surf & Sand
Tiki Outdoor Party
Hibiscus Trio

And other odds and ends pieces that are more optional.

Recommended Expansions:
AMB, LN, Pets, Gen, SN, Seasons, UL, IP and OLS Stuff Pack

The cost of this home is 78,969 simoleans with furnishings.

Put the Lime In the Coconut...

Thanks to Harry Nilsson's "Put The Lime in The Coconut" my WIP has become a Modern.  While having this song in my head, I have revamped the house and I'm nearly done.

Here's the sneak peek of what's to come in a day or two:

It will have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, outdoor space with a fire pit and a spacious 2-car garage.  I have a bathroom and two bedrooms to finish, but I may leave one empty for downloaders to customize. :)

Check back soon, thanks for stopping by and as always  Happy Simming!

Coming Soon!

Now that I have Island Paradise, I decided it would be fitting to build a coastal home to match the new town.  (Well, new town to me.)

Not sure what I'm going to call this one, but this is "rough draft" of the house.  The color scheme may change and I may decide to make it more modern...  The windows and doors are modern, but the colors are more traditional.  So I really don't know it which direction I'll take this house since I can't seem to make up my mind between Traditional and Modern...

We'll see.

New! The Retreat

The Retreat is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath log cabin featuring ample living space, green house, optional In-Law suite over the garage and more!

The Retreat is CC Free but does contain just a few Store World items, which aren't necessary to download the house.  The expansions needed include AMB, LN, GEN, Pets, SN, Season, and UL.

The home was built on 1005 Pomona Promenade in Appaloosa and costs 117,814 simoleans with furnishings.

Here are two pictures of the front and back of the house.  I had to crop out the garage because I didn't want a skewed cover picture for the actual item.  And the back of the house has some nice architectural features that don't show well on the item images.

Merry Christmas! And ... I'm Back, Again.

I guess I could pretend that I wasn't gone for 7-8 months from The Sims.  Or I could excuse my way out of why I've been gone.

Truth be told, I was burned out.  I was building homes right and left, and really, a few posts before my last in February, I was feeling really overwhelmed with building and underwhelmed with my creativity.  So, I decided to unceremoniously step back and take a hiatus.  Honestly, I didn't think that hiatus would have lasted as long as it did, but it did good nonetheless.

I started up my game about a week and a half ago to discover that a lot of my files were corrupted.  So I basically had to start over.  I lost whatever WIPs and sims I'd been working on but because I'd been away for so long, most I can't even tell you what they looked like.  I uninstalled a lot of EPs and all my SPs so all I have installed really, are my favorite expansions and all my store worlds.

The log cabin in my last post in February was one I decided to rebuild, however.  Here's a seasonal picture of what I've done so far....

There are just some minor changes to the exterior.  Since I don't have Showtime installed the window in the front is different... and a few other modifications.  Because of the snow in Appaloosa (where I moved my legacy family) you can't see the landscaping detail.  But all landscaping is done, I've moved to the interior.  I was hoping to have this ready before Christmas, but it simply won't get done.  I'll be leaving later today to go to my mom's house for Christmas so I won't be back until after New Year's.

And in regards to building..... I haven't decided if I'm going to go back to building for others or if I'll just enjoy it for myself.  I'm taking my time to make a decision. I really want to enjoy other non-build aspects of the game as well, like my legacy family I left behind.

Whenever a decision is made, I'll hit up my blog again.  And really, I will still use my blog for personal builds so I'll be back around for sure now that I feel like I've gotten back into the groove of Sims 3.

I hope everyone has a Merry and Happy Christmas!
